Why use Londy

Three reasons that show up on your statement, not just your homepage banner.

The dealer's finance department isn't your friend

Dealer finance is a profit centre — they're paid on commission and tied to one or two lenders. We're paid by the lender, not by you, and we're tied to 55. That maths usually wins.

Pre-approval gives you negotiating power

Walk onto the lot with a rate already locked in and the conversation changes. The dealer can match it (you've won) or they can't (you've still won).

Refinance is a quiet win

If you've been in your existing car loan for 12+ months, there's a strong chance we can shave 1–3 percentage points off the rate. Same car, same monthly budget, less interest paid.

Who this is for

Used or new, dealer or private sale — we write both.

  • First-time car buyers comparing dealer finance to a broker quote.
  • Upgraders trading the family wagon for something newer.
  • Refinancers stuck on a rate from 2–3 years ago that hasn't moved with the market.
  • Pre-shoppers who want a rate locked in before they walk onto a lot.

How it works

Five steps from 'thinking about a car' to 'the money's at the dealer'.

  1. 01

    Share the basics

Loan amount, term, whether you've picked the car yet. Phone or microform — your choice.

  2. 02

    Soft credit check

No impact on your score. We come back with an indicative rate from the lender most likely to write your deal.

  3. 03

    Confirm the car

Year, make, model, VIN if you have it. Dealer or private seller.

  4. 04

    Formal approval

Usually 24–48 hours. We submit the file with all supporting docs.

  5. 05

    Settlement

Funds go directly to the dealer or seller. You drive away.

Londy sorted out a small loan for me to buy a car. Excellent, fast communication. Explained things very clearly. Got me a great deal with a low rate that works for me. Couldn't recommend them highly enough.

Frequently asked questions

Common questions before you sign.

Can Londy Loans help me get a better deal on a new car?

Yes. We can help with more than just the finance. Through our dealer network, we can help source and negotiate the price of your new car, ute or work vehicle — potentially saving you time and money. We can then arrange the finance separately, so you can compare the vehicle price, interest rate and repayments rather than simply accepting the dealer's finance package. One call. Better buying power. Better finance. Less running around.

Can I finance a used car?

Absolutely. We can finance new cars, used cars and even older or classic vehicles — including something as unique as a 1986 Holden Monaro. Whether you're buying from a dealer or private seller, we have access to lenders that specialise in different vehicle ages and types. If it's got wheels, there's a good chance we can finance it.

How much deposit do I need?

Often, none at all. Depending on your circumstances and lender criteria, we can potentially arrange finance for up to 170% of the value of the car. That extra finance can potentially help cover negative equity, warranties and eligible vehicle upgrades and accessories — including 4x4 accessories, lift kits, suspension upgrades, bull bars, canopies, new wheels and tyres. So if you're buying a 4WD or work ute and want it set up properly from day one, talk to Londy Loans about financing the vehicle and eligible upgrades together. A deposit or trade-in can still help reduce your repayments and potentially improve your rate, but it's not always required.

What credit score do I need to get a car loan?

There's no single minimum credit score. Different lenders have different policies, and we have options for customers with excellent, average and impaired credit. We look at the whole application, not just a number on your credit file.

Can I get car finance with bad credit?

Yes, potentially. We work with specialist lenders that consider customers with past credit issues, defaults or a less-than-perfect credit history. If your credit file needs some work before we apply, we also have specialist credit repair partners who may be able to help clean up or correct eligible issues on your credit file for a fee. Sometimes the better option is to fix the credit file first and then apply for finance from a stronger position. We'll help you work out the best way forward.

Can I get a car loan if I've had defaults?

Yes, in many cases. A default doesn't automatically mean you can't get finance. We'll look at what happened, how long ago it happened, whether it has been paid and what your financial position looks like today.

Can I get finance if I'm self-employed?

Absolutely. We regularly arrange finance for sole traders, contractors and company directors. Depending on the lender, you may not need two years of full financials.

Can I get finance with a new ABN or Day 1 business?

Yes. We have specialist lenders that can consider new and even Day 1 businesses, particularly where you have relevant industry experience and a strong overall application.

Can I get a car loan if I'm casual or on probation?

Potentially, yes. Being casual or on probation doesn't automatically rule you out. Your employment history, income, affordability and overall profile will determine which lenders may suit.

Can I finance a car through a private sale?

Yes. We can arrange finance for vehicles purchased privately as well as through dealerships. Private sales may require some additional checks on the vehicle and seller, but we can help organise the process.

How old can the car be?

It depends on the lender, but we have lenders that finance older vehicles as well as late-model cars. Don't assume a car is too old to finance before speaking with us.

Can Londy Loans finance classic or collectable cars?

Yes. We have options for older, classic and collectable vehicles. Whether it's a brand-new car or something like a 1986 Holden Monaro, talk to us and we'll investigate the available options.

Can I finance a modified 4WD?

Yes, subject to lender criteria. We understand that for many 4WD owners, buying the vehicle is only the beginning. We can look at finance options that take eligible modifications and accessories into consideration.

Can I include a lift kit, wheels, tyres, canopy or bull bar in the finance?

Potentially, yes. Depending on the lender and your application, eligible 4x4 accessories, lift kits, suspension upgrades, wheels and tyres, bull bars, canopies and other upgrades may be included in the finance.

Can I finance more than the value of the car?

Potentially. Depending on your circumstances and lender criteria, we can potentially arrange finance for up to 170% of the value of the vehicle. This can provide additional room for things such as negative equity and eligible accessories or upgrades, including 4x4 modifications.

Can I trade in a car that still has finance owing?

Yes. We can work with the payout on your existing vehicle and structure the new finance around your trade-in. If you owe more than your vehicle is worth, we can also investigate options for dealing with the negative equity.

Can you refinance my existing car loan?

Yes. If your current loan has a high interest rate or repayment, we can investigate whether refinancing could provide a better rate, lower repayment or more suitable loan structure.

Can I consolidate other debts at the same time?

Potentially. Depending on your circumstances, we may be able to look at consolidating credit cards, personal loans and other eligible debts as part of an overall refinance strategy.

Should I use dealer finance or a broker?

A dealership generally offers finance through the lenders available to them. A specialist broker can compare options across multiple lenders and help you assess the interest rate, fees, loan term, balloon and, most importantly, the actual repayment.

How quickly can I get approved?

Some applications can receive an answer the same day, particularly when we have all the required information upfront. More complex applications may take longer, but we'll keep you informed throughout the process.

Can I get pre-approved before I find the car?

Yes. Getting pre-approved can give you a clearer idea of your budget and potential repayments before you start seriously shopping for your vehicle.

Does getting a quote affect my credit score?

Not necessarily. We can initially discuss your circumstances and potential lender options before determining whether a formal credit enquiry is required.

What documents do I need?

It depends on the lender and whether you're PAYG or self-employed. Typically, we may require identification, proof of income and information about your expenses and existing financial commitments. Business applicants may require additional documentation.

How much can I borrow?

This depends on your income, expenses, existing debts, credit profile and the vehicle you want to purchase. We'll assess your circumstances and work out a realistic borrowing range before approaching the most suitable lenders.

How long can I finance a car for?

Loan terms vary between lenders and vehicles. Five to seven years is common, although shorter or longer terms may be available depending on the vehicle and your circumstances.

Can I have a balloon payment?

Depending on the type of finance and lender, yes. A balloon or residual leaves an agreed amount owing at the end of the loan and can help reduce your regular repayments during the loan term.

Can I pay my car loan out early?

Usually, yes. Different lenders have different early repayment conditions, so we'll explain these to you before you proceed.

Are there penalties for paying my car loan out early?

It depends on the lender and loan product. That's why we look beyond just the advertised interest rate and consider the fees, flexibility, repayment and overall loan structure.

Can I finance a car for my business?

Yes. We arrange finance for company vehicles, work utes, vans, 4WDs and other business vehicles, from sole traders and new businesses through to established companies.

Can I finance a ute or vehicle for a tradie?

Absolutely. Tradies are one of the areas we specialise in. Whether you need a ute, van, 4WD or work vehicle fitted with accessories, we can look at finance structured around you and your business.

Can I finance two vehicles at the same time?

Potentially, yes. If your income and servicing support it, we can look at multiple vehicles or a vehicle plus equipment and find a structure that works for your circumstances.

Can I get finance if I live at home or board with family?

Yes. Living at home, boarding or living with family doesn't prevent you from getting finance. The lender will consider your actual living expenses, income and ability to afford the repayments.

Why use Londy Loans instead of going directly to a bank or dealer?

Because one lender gives you one set of rules and one finance option. At Londy Loans, we have access to a broad panel of lenders, allowing us to find the lender that best suits you, your vehicle and your circumstances. We handle the paperwork, negotiate the finance and keep things moving from application through to settlement.

What if my bank has already said no?

One lender saying no doesn't mean everyone will. Banks and finance companies have very different lending policies. An application that doesn't fit one lender may suit another. Before giving up, talk to us. We can look at why you were declined and whether there's another lender or a better way to structure the application.

Can I finance a classic car?

Yes. Londy Loans has access to specialist lenders that can finance classic, vintage and collectable vehicles — even cars that many mainstream lenders consider too old. Finance may be available through either a consumer car loan or a commercial asset-finance facility. Commercial finance may be considered where the business can demonstrate a genuine business purpose for the vehicle. You may be able to purchase through a dealership, auction house or private seller. The lender will generally consider the vehicle's age, condition, market value and your financial circumstances. An independent inspection or valuation may also be required. Whether it's a restored Australian muscle car, a European classic or a unique collector vehicle, we'll search our lender panel for a competitive finance option suited to the car and your circumstances.

How much can I borrow against an older car?

Some lenders write up to 100% of the car's market value for newer cars (typically 0-5 years old). For older cars, the loan-to-value ratio (LVR) tightens — a lender might cap at 90%, 80%, or in some cases 70% of the assessed market value.
